Submissions to Five Fingers Review

Five Fingers Review has a specific reading period. Our staff only accepts submissions from June 1 to August 30. We send responses out in January of the following year. Simultaneous submissions are acceptable. Previously published work is not acceptable. Translations are encouraged, except in the poetry and fiction contests.

Please keep in mind that Five Fingers Review is a theme-based magazine and only work that applies to the theme will be seriously considered.

The theme for 2007 is Camouflage. We are interested in writing that addresses the the hidden, the disguised the covert and the reasons behind camouflage.

The reading period for unsolicited submissions follows our annual Fiction and Poetry Awards contests, which also have the same theme. Detailed information about the contest is below.

Five Fingers Review's Poetry and Fiction Awards

$500 prize in both categories.

Theme: Camouflage
Fiction: 5,000 word limit. Poetry: 3 poems, 10 page maximum.
Deadline postmark June 1, 2007.

$12 contest reading fee. Make check or money order payable to Five Fingers Review.

Entries must have two cover sheets: one with your name and one without. Your name should not appear anywhere else on the manuscript. Entries should be typewritten or laser printed on 81/2" x 11" white bond paper. Fiction should be double-spaced; poetry single- or double-spaced.

Manuscripts will not be returned. Please enclose a self-addressed stamped envelope if you wish to receive notification of the contest results. Each contestant’s work will be considered for publication whether or not it wins a prize.
